Timezone & schedule times
Volunteer shifts are stored as local time at your site (for example 8:00 AM–12:00 PM). The timezone tells the system which city that is so reminders fire on time. Times you already configured are not changed when you update the app.
Where to set it
Go to Organization → Settings. You will see “Organization timezone” and “Time format” (12 h AM/PM or 24 h).
On sign-up the platform suggests a zone from your default phone country. Review it: for the U.S. the initial value may be Eastern (New York) even if your site is Pacific (Los Angeles), Central (Chicago), or another region.
What does not change
Days you already created in Schedule keep the same start and end times on screen and on the public portal. A shift saved as 8:00 AM remains 8:00 AM in your organization’s local time.
Editing a day in Schedule still shows the same time options you picked; stored values are not auto-converted.
What uses the timezone
Automatic SMS or email reminders (Pro plan): the system calculates “24 hours before” using your configured zone and the shift time.
Internal interpretation of when a shift starts for server-side scheduled tasks.
What each person sees on screen
On Schedule, Bookings, and the public portal you see shift times exactly as your organization configured them (8:00 AM in your city).
On activity logs (when a booking was created, tickets, notifications) each person sees their own device time so “when did this happen?” matches their clock.
